Our Aim & Purpose
Confluence Church
Our vision is expressed by coming together under the lordship of Jesus Christ, and exalting His kingdom above our differences, continually being formed into a family of varying ethnicities, ages, and economic classes. Transformed into passionately engaged followers of Jesus, with a desire to not just attend church, but to be the church, creating an alternative culture rooted in God’s principles, here in the city. We recognize that God has placed within each of us gifts, passions, and abilities to extend the kingdom of heaven in our local arenas and to see Christ’s church established on earth.
LEADERSHIP
As outlined in the New Testament (1 Tim 3:1-8, Titus 1:5-10, 1 Pt 5:1-5, Acts 20:17-35), we function as a plurality of elders and deacons who serve the local church, together.
Each leader is an integral part of our leadership team with no more value than any other yet with differing gifts and roles. Jesus is the “Senior Pastor”, and He is the only person the church cannot function without.
What We Believe
Confluence Church is a non-denominational church that believes in the authority of the Bible for our life and practice. We hold to the essential orthodox Christian beliefs as best
expressed in the Apostles’ and the Nicene Creed, as well as the Christian Statement of
Faith. We are also deeply related and connected to both national and international
families of churches called C2C and Salt & Light.
CULTURE is defined as a set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that
characterizes a people. This list is not exhaustive, but it will give you an idea of our core

We worship the one true God, who is one in essence and three in presence: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We value relationships that honor God and that honor one another, because we believe Jesus not only calls us to Himself, but He also joins us to one another for His name’s sake.
We value diversity in ethnicity, culture, status, and gifting knowing that life would be extremely boring if we were all the same.
We value equality because the gospel of Jesus Christ levels the field of life bringing us all into a proper standing with Our Father and with one another. We agree that the Bible teaches full equality of men and women in status, giftedness, and opportunity for ministry and that the church is best served when men and women share responsibilities and serve together as complementary partners.
CONNECTIONS
Confluence Church is deeply related and connected to a national group of friends joined as church families called Coast 2 Coast. Our friendships span across various cities and states around the nation.
Confluence Church is joined with the Salt & Light family of churches because we feel God has connected our hearts together in relationship, mission, and shared values. Salt & Light is an international family of churches and leaders.
